Brian Jones  - Veterinary Surgeon


Qualified from UCD in  1984. After working in England and Australia, he returned home to open a practice in Dundalk in 1991. He later opened ANCU Veterinary Hospital in Newry in March 1998. There is also a branch practice in Finglas, Dublin. Brian specialises in sports injuries and canine reproduction. Clients travel from all over Ireland and the UK to avail of his expertise. Brian has a keen interest in greyhound racing and can regularly be seen at Dundalk race track with his dogs. He also has two pet dogs, which he rehomed. Brian has a keen interest in Horse-racing and worked in Sydney, Australia and the Curragh. He works in Dundalk Stadium as a Track Vet.


John  Melia - Veterinary Surgeon ( Small animal )


Qualified from UCD in 2004. He worked in England and later set up a veterinary practice in Birmingham, with his wife. John joined the practice in 2008. He is a competent surgeon, specialising in ultrasonography and cardiology. John took a year out and completed his Masters in Queens University, Belfast. John has two dogs.


Marese Mc Cabe - Veterinary Nurse


Joined the practice in March 1998. Marese was the first nurse to qualify here after the practise was approved as a training centre for veterinary nurses. She qualified in 2005 and went on to train as an AI assistant and a clinical wash to out trainees. Marese also lectures on the Veterinary Nursing degree Course in DkIT.  Marese has one dog, a Labrador cross called Meg and numerous fish.


Grace Mc Elroy - Veterinary Nurse


Joined our team in 2000 to train as a veterinary nurse. She completed her ANA before going on to level 3. She hopes to qualify in in 2012. Grace has a keen interest in horses and can be regularly be seen out with her horse Elvis at drives where they are both very successful. She also completed the training for our new Hydrotherapy Centre in 2011. Grace has dogs, cats and horses.


Aishling Grennan - Veterinary Nurse



Aishling joined our team as the veterinary nurse in the Blackrock branch in September 2011 after qualifying with Honours from DkIT. Aishling is an avid sportswoman and can regularly be seen with a hurley in her hand as she plays on the County Monaghan camogie team. Aishling also has three dogs and Pedigree Limousine Cattle.



Fionnula Ann Byrne - Veterinary Nurse

Joined Ancu in 2007. She trained here gaining her ANA & RVN qualifications. Fionnuala Ann enjoys the outdoor life and has a keen interest in kayaking, hiking and horse riding. This lifestyle led her to take a career break for a year to go travelling in Europe & North Africa. She rejoined us in July 2012. Fionnuala Ann has a dog, "Seamus", and two cats.


Rachel Cunningham- Trainee Veterinary Nurse


The newest member of the team joined us in September 2012 to undertake the ANA course at Greenmount. She hopes to progress to the veterinary nursing course in September.
